So I put the cardboard on the entry way of the playroom.  I haven't quite perfected it.  So in the mean time I decided to put the textured cardboard on the roller and paint the texture on the wall.  Adds the same textured look as the cardboard with a lot lett steps than before.  I like it so far!  Keep you posted on the progress!

So I continue the playroom tranformation.  The room is pretty big and overwhelming so i am focusing on one area at a time.  I am almost done with my first section...the entry way.  I have put up textured walls...painted the textured walls..painted the ceiling light blue...added detrailed paintings to the wall.  Now I have pulled up the carpet and removed tack strips.  I put down the grout color, which I decided to do blue.   Today I plan to tape it off and sponge on tan.  Should I make a welcome matt by the door....make it a little fun since it is a playroom???  Well I will keep you posted!

Yesterday was a bit of a mess.  I decided to paint the cardboard to give it a more uniformed look.  At first it completely scared me because the cardboard majorly bubbled up.  After it dried it flattened out a bit.  I had to staple a few parts down though.  So I decided to use the glue mixture from the brown paper wall to glue the squares on.  I'll keep you posted if that works any better.  Check out what it looks like so far.  I added a little design on it (keep in mind this is for a kids playroom).  Also, I painted the ceiling light blue.  I am now starting to paint the cement floor!  My first corner of the room is almost done. :) I'll keep you posted on the progress!

Ok, so the cardboard texturized walls that I am working on is in the playroom.  Since then I have had a TON of ideas on how to totally transform that room.  So join me through the step by step process as I figure out what works and what doesn't!  Today I finished hanging the first wall of cardboard so I painted the bottom trim light tan.  I ripped the carpet out of the corner I am working on because I plan to eventually paint the concrete in this room, too!  Keep you posted!

Cardboard Walls

4/14/2012

So it had been raining here so I haven't had a chance to paint the outdoor concrete.  So I moved onto a new project.  When I was at work I was picking up a box and tore the top flap.  It had this amazing texture.  And thats how this all started.  So I decided to cut the box and 12x12" square and pull it apart to get the texture then......I nailed it to the wall.  YES I nailed carboard to the wall.  So far looks pretty neat.  I will keep you posted on the progress.  I have this whole theme I am going to try in the kids playroom.  Keep ya posted! :)

Paint Cement?????

4/13/2012

Ok, so I have a new idea.  I think I am going to paint the cement under my deck.  It is a cute little area where I have a porch swing and I would like to transform it into an outdoor living space.  What better way to spice it up than to paint the floor!  I am thinking of trying a cobble stone looking floor.  I'll keep you posted!
