Wall Paper Flooring
Yes, put wall paper on your FLOOR. After trying the brown paper flooring it made me think, what about using wall paper to do the same thing???? I was redoing the downstairs guest bathroom floor when I came up with the idea. I initially intended to strip the floor and paint it. After I finished about a third of the floor I decided the pattern I was painting didn't quite match the bathroom theme I already had. Intead of stripping the floor and starting over, it came to me, why not try using wall paper for flooring. There was leftover wall paper here when we bought the house and wallpaper is thicker than brown paper, which I thought would be better for bathrooms. So I decided to try the brown paper flooring technique with wall paper. Read on to see how it turns out!
Gather Supplies
Just like with brown paper flooring you need whatever wall paper you intend to use, a bucket, Elmers glue, and water. I mixed one part water with one part glue.
Wall Paper Time
I tore off random pieces of wall paper and crumbled it up. I straightened out the paper and painted glue on both sides. The wall paper takes a lot less glue solution than the brown paper because it all ready has adhesive on it. I randomly layed the pieces on the floor and smoothed it out. After all pieces are in place make sure to allow plenty of dry time.
Poly Time
After the floor has dried, I added 3 layers of poly to seal the floor. I used the same floor poly as the brown paper flooring. I used the quick dry poly, so I could add a layer of poly after 2 hours.
